Difficult situations usually bring out chivalrous people. They are the ones who never coy at work – cautious, alacritous, not realizing the risks while ensuring continuity of services and avoid the disruption of the office functions.
For DepEd Parañaque, the employees who demonstrate such distinct courage deserve due recognition.
Thus, on its first virtual flag ceremony via Zoom, the SDO through Project MORE and in cooperation with the PRAISE committee bestowed the ‘Gawad ng Katapangan’ Award to the SDO personnel who manifested courage in physically reporting to the office for the months of March and April 2021.
Mr. Manolo V. Talosig and Ms. Venus C. Saranquin ranked first and second, respectively, for the months of March and April. On the other hand, the third rank went to Ms. Nancy Elevado for March and Ms. Judy Espina for April. Each monthly awardee received one thousand pesos (P1,000.00) in cash. Those twice named as awardees doubled the amount to two thousand pesos (P2,000.00).
For Mr. Talosig, no amount could compare the joy of rendering sincere service to the division where he is employed, especially knowing that his effort created an impact, which made him proud of what he has been doing.
Meanwhile, Schools Division Superintendent Evangeline P. Ladines expressed her delight with the participation of the majority of the personnel in the first virtual flag ceremony. She expected a hundred percent attendance in the succeeding virtual ceremony named as the division’s historic initiative that gathers together all personnel amidst pandemic.
Superintendent Ladines accentuated the Patriotism-Integrity-Excellence-Spirituality (PIES) values that all personnel must possess. Whether reporting physically to the office or working from home (WFH), each is expected to contribute to the service continuity plan of the division and take the attributes of the awardees as good examples.
