SDO Parañaque wins BE awards

Outstanding performance deserves recognition.

True to the statement, the Schools Division of Parañaquehas been consistent at producing schools that respond to the call of the Department of Education (DepEd) in theNational Maintenance Week dubbed as BrigadaEskwela (BE).

Parañaque National High School (PNHS) Main and Parañaque Science High School (PSHS) received aPlaque of Recognition as the Best Implementer for the Mega and Small School category, respectively, in the National BrigadaEskwelaBest Implementing Schools Awarding Ceremony held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City, on Nov. 28, 2019.

Schools Division Superintendent Evangeline P. Ladines, CESO V, together with Mario Jimenez, representative of Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez;Marilyn B. Timtiman, SGOD chief;Ma. Estrellita C. Arceo, Public Schools District Supervisor; and SEPS Maximino E. Santos Jr., Division Partnership Focal Person, led the school heads and other partner schools in receiving the awards.

Usec. Tonisito M. C. Umali and Usec. Nepomuceno A. Malaluan conferred the award to the PNHS Main with Gerry A. Lumaban, Principal IV; Jaime O. Sarmiento, assistant principal; and Kirk M. Magdamit, school BE coordinator.

Meanwhile, Marilou A. de Jesus, current principal,together with Thelma F. Montiel, former OIC- principal, received the award for PSHS. Ma. Cristina R. Villareal, Department Head in Science; Divine Grace Q. Dazo, school BE coordinator; and Felix N. Tanbua of the Republic Steel, Inc., the school’s major partner accompanied them.It can be recalled that PSHS twice received the award as the previous school year’s BE Best Implementer of the same category as well.

As DepEd stipulates, BE aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school year in June. The awardees were determined by the following criteria: scope of work (35%), diverse volunteer participation (25%), generated resources (15%), alignment to BE theme (10%), creativity and innovation (10%), and increment of resources and volunteers (5%).(by ReenaOrquina)
