Schools Division of Paraňaque City awarded to Masville National High School (MNHS) the 74 gadgets generated from its Donate a Cellphone Drive initiative launched in July.

Schools Division Superintendent Evangeline P. Ladines turned over to Dr. Gina N. Zapico, schoolhead, the 36 brand new smartphones and 38 brand new 10.1 tablets during the SDO Paraňaque Virtual Turnover Ceremony of Gadgets, October 9.

MNHS was conferred as the recipient of the gadgets following the assessment conducted by the division through Brigada Eskwela (BE) focal person Mr. Maximino Santos Jr., SEPS for Social Mobilization and Networking.  The said school had the lowest number of cellphones solicited after its convergence with the school alumni and other stakeholders.

Aside from that, the MNHS schoolhead was straightforward in her appeal to Superintendent Ladines on the need of the school to receive the gadgets considering the difficulty of the parents to provide (gadgets) for their children.

In her message, Dr. Ladines expressed confidence that the gadgets would really help facilitate the delivery of the distance learning modality to the students who would be identified from among those over one thousand student population of the school.

On its second wave of gadget donation drive to be launched this November, the division targeted 500 gadgets with the collaboration of all SDO personnel. (by Reena G. Orquina)
