The Schools Division of Parañaque seized on to the adage in the conduct of the Pre School Opening Activities (PSOA) – Parents Training for Kinder to Grade 6 (K-6) levels, August 3-7.
The parents training was conducted simultaneously by the K-6 schools following the division format and contents prearranged and managed by the PSOA training team headed by Dr. Arlyn M. Brigola with the close supervision of the Schools Division Superintendent Evangeline P. Ladines.
The schools were free to decide on the appropriate delivery mode to ensure the smooth conduct of the training. Some of them delivered the training by classrooms or by grade levels handled by the respective class advisers via Google Meet, while other schools considered the plenary sessions expanding their reach with the parents via FB Live.
During the training, the parents were given the opportunity to ask questions and clear up their doubts concerning the things discussed. Questions were answered by the technical working group led by the schoolhead.
Presented in a brief, encouraging, entertaining and informative manner to engage the parents, the topics encompassed the relevant information that the parents have to discern in order to prepare and guide their children in the new learning environment. The following foundational topics include Parenting Skills and Knowledge, Communicating between Home and School, Supporting Learners at Home, Involvement in Decision Making and Advocacy, and Collaborating with the Community,
“The training overcomes our fears and makes us appreciate more the effort of DepEd for our children in the new normal,” commented one of the parent attendees.
The CID and SGOD supervisors monitored the conduct of the training. (By Nelson I. Carvajal)
