Call it a day of grandeur and festivity for the Schools Division of Paraǹaque City on its Division Tribute for the 77 Loyalty Awardees – 62 of them have been in the service for 30 years, 13 for 35 years, and two for 40 years – as well as, 34 Retirees held at the Paraǹaque City gymnasium and livestreamed on Facebook on Oct. 13, 2023.

Forty years of service awardee Mr. Carlito Adducul, schoolhead of San Antonio Elementary School, expressed his gratitude to SDO Paraǹaque on behalf of his fellow awardees. He said the recognition accorded to them made the day memorable for all of them.

According to Mr. Adducul, the award manifested the Division’s love and honor for the teachers, who surmounted the multifarious challenges encountered for years. He likewise uttered indebtedness for the indefatigable and relentless support and partnership with the city government of Paraǹaque. He stressed that it takes a deep commitment and dedication to stay relevant and be updated to perform efficiently and effectively in the teaching field.

In addition, the schoolhead said that if the teacher is not motivated and does not realize the nobility of the profession, 10 or 20 years could be an excruciating experience. In contrast, an inspired teacher would find 30, 35 years, and beyond so short, and the burdens would turn into joy despite the odds.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the retirees, former Education Program Supervisor Dr. Gregorio T. Capiral also shared his gratefulness and articulated his story of impacting the lives of the learners through “effective and exemplary service” for 44 years at SDO Paraǹaque.

Schools Division Superintendent Nerissa T. Losaria, with Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Violeta M. Gonzales, SGOD Chief Thelma F. Montiel, OIC-CID Chief Leonora J. Nofuente,  City Mayor Eric L. Olivarez,  First District Representative Edwin L. Olivarez, and Second District Representative Gustavo S. Tambunting, conferred the loyalty awardees and retirees a plaque of recognition and a token in appreciation for their invaluable contribution, passion, and dedication to service, thereby becoming agents of transformation to the lives of the learners.

Dedicated to all teachers, the program showcased the courtship tradition of the Filipinos in the interpretative dance by the ‘Kulturang Kayumanggi‘ of PNHS Main, the electronic raffle draws for teachers, the golden voice of Congressman Edwin Olivarez in his ‘Hanggang‘ by Wency Cornejo and the dancing prowess of Mayor Eric Olivarez equaled with the spirited performance of the SDO led by the contagious grace of Dr. Losaria.

Ms. Ma. Irene E. Inventor and Mr. King S. Villanueva, teachers of Paraǹaque Science High School and Masville National High School, respectively, brought about a lively and meaningful awarding ceremony through their notable program facilitation.

Held in line with the culmination of National Teachers’ Day, the annual search and awarding ceremony is a collective effort of the SDO chaired by the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent and co-chaired by the Office of the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and taken an active part by the rest of the SDO officials.
