DEPED P'QUE FETES WTD IN RED CARPET

Schools Division of Paraňaque conducted the World Teachers Day (WTD) Celebration on a welcome mat at the Mella Hotel, Las Piňas City, and live-streamed via FB on October 5, 2022.

With the still looming COVID-19, the attendees in person were the awardees themselves, schoolheads, SDO personnel, and guests. However, the friends and supporters of the awardees could still witness the whole occasion via FB live.

The whole day celebration took place in the morning and the afternoon sessions. In the morning session, the honorees were the 39 loyalty awardees (32 have been in the service for 30 years, five for 35 years, and two for 40 years) and the 24 retirees.

Getting a standing ovation, Schools Division Superintendent Evangeline P. Ladines received a special Plaque of Recognition signed by NCR Director Wilfredo Cabral for having served with passion the Department of Education (DepEd) for 40 years. She rose from the ranks – from the positions of a classroom teacher, schoolhead, and Schools Division Superintendent, assigned to four schools divisions, the latest being at DepEd Paraňaque. The other SDO service awardees were: Education Program Supervisor Corazon A. Javier (30 years), Public Schools District Supervisor Ma. Estrellita C. Arceo (35 years), and Supply Officer Vicente B. Pelayo (35 years). The remaining awardees came from different schools.

The afternoon session recognized the 46 school-based winners of the Search for Most Outstanding Teachers from the Elementary, Junior High School (JHS), and Senior High School (SHS) levels. From among the school winners, the Division declared overall winners. They were: Myril L. Ramirez, Sto. Nino Elementary School; Percila S. Mislang, Paraňaque National High School-Main (JHS), Irene B. Japlos, PNHS-Main (SHS); Nilo Michael L. Embestro for Alternative Learning System, and Jonathan D. Vecina of San Agustin Elementary School for Special Education.

Raffle draws of prepaid load cards and trivia questions spiced up the celebration, graced by City Mayor Eric L. Olivarez with City Councilor Pablo “Paolo Olivarez II and District I Representative Edwin L. Olivarez.
