Thus commented Schools Division Superintendent Nerissa L. Losaria relative to the distinct feat of the ParCen Color Guard Ensemble declared the Champion in the Asian Music Games (AMG) held at Jember, Indonesia, on Sept. 21-26, 2023. Paraǹaque Elementary School Central (PESC) learners composed the ParCen team.

 

Superintendent Losaria believed (that) the full support of the school, family, local government, and community enables the learners to be victorious in the way ParCen, the sole Philippine delegate, gained the top spot in the international arena.

 

ParCen likewise won the following distinct awards: Color Guard Best in Parade Uniform, Male Solo Color Guard Champion (Junior category), Female Solo Color Guard Champion (Senior category), and Duo Color Guard Champion (Senior category).

 

Schoolhead Myla R. Velasquez expressed her delight and gratitude for the triumph the team coveted. “Your PESC family is so proud of you,” she said. “Your performance proved how you have improved much to become one of the best world-class young color guards. ParCen maintained the seat as champion in the Thailand World Music Championship held virtually last year.

 

Schoolhead Velasquez thanked the trainer, Christian V. Tenorio, for bringing out the best kid performers and wished them to sustain the motivation and good performances. With Richard O. Habala and Josefina M. Roque, teacher coordinators, she accompanied the team to boost their confidence and endurance as they competed with the other international contenders.

 

The schoolhead said she was grateful for the financial and moral support of the Local Government of Paraǹaque, the Schools Division Office, and the parents. “Without them, we would not be able to participate internationally and would not have won,” she concluded.

 

AMG is a premier event of the Asian Marching Band Confederation (AMBC) under the World Marching Band Organization (WMBO) which aims to provide opportunities for all Asian Talents anywhere in the world to continue presenting their outstanding creation and performance. (by Reena G. Orquina)
