SDO P’que undergoes ISO external audit anew, passes with flying colors

To sustain its compliance to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, the Schools Division of Parañaque City once again underwent through a stringent external audit from auditors of In-fact Management Consultancy Services on December 16 to 17, 2019.

On the first day of the external audit, auditor Jose B. Morillo and his technical expert, Felicisimo Molina, held a discussion on ISO 9001:2015. Documentary requirements absent in the current system of the Division were identified in relation to the discussion.

The manuals of operation of each division and section offices were also keenly reviewed by the auditors as they appropriately imparted insights for improvement. One of the main pointers of Morillo was the establishment of a Quality Assurance Committee headed by a Quality Assurance Director for the proper and systematic treatment of documents and assurance of consistent formatting of such.

Compliance of SDO Parañaque as regards the standards of ISO 9001:2015 was further checked against the clauses of ‘Stage 2/Surveillance/Re-Certification Audit Plan ISO 9001:2015’ in which it satisfactorily complied with.

On the second day of the external audit, some clients of SDO Parañaque from different sectors were interviewed by the auditors to verify customer satisfaction. These were: Dr. Rhodora Espino, schoolhead of San Antonio National High School, with SSG president Jerry Bernal and vice president Miguel Reyes; Dr. Rosendo Abulog, schoolhead of Parañaque Elementary School Central; Angelica Santos, owner of Pean Integrated School of Parañaque; Reynaldo Serrano, registrar from St. Andrew’s School; Cecile Pammo, Parents-Teachers Association representative from Sampaloc Site II Elementary School; Gemma Amores, Brigada Eskwela coordinator of F. Serrano Sr. Elementary School, and Rolando Balaoro, School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management  coordinator of Parañaque National High School Main.

From the customer verification, the highest rating given to the Division was 10.0 while 9.9 as its lowest.

The auditors then proceeded with the physical inspection of all offices in SDO Parañaque. In the inspection, apart from examining the physical facilities of each office, they also scrutinized physical documents and tested important process flows. Some clients in the offices were also interviewed. The use of CCTV cameras and the importance of IT integration were also brought up in the context of document management.

After the external audit, Morillo together with Molina awarded a certificate to SDO Parañaque for passing the two-day ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System 2nd Annual Surveillance Audit.
