“With the approval on the internet connectivity program of Parañaque City, learners will soon avail of the Wi-Fi connection which will help them respond to the learning modality of the division,” Schools Division Superintendent Evangeline P. Ladines disclosed in a virtual meeting with the schoolheads, CID and SGOD chiefs, CID and SGOD supervisors, division IT officer, ALS specialists, and division librarian, July 10.
In their recent meeting with the Local School Board (LSB) Superintendent Ladines imparted that with the full support to the program of City Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez, more or less, the connectivity will take effect in the first week of October following the procurement process.
“With free Wi-Fi, it is then expected that the delivery of instruction is enhanced compared to the use of the printed modules only,” Dr. Ladines said. She said further that the parents will no longer have problem on the payment of connectivity load. “With the one-time investment of the LSB on resources, such as the internet connectivity, quality education is thus sustained.”
Fifty to fifty-five percent or half of the student population who have gadgets based on the LESF will take advantage of the internet connection, while the remaining half shall utilize the printed modules which are likewise “financed by the city through Mayor Olivarez,” Dr. Ladines said.
However, to augment the lack of consumables that may arise, Dr. Ladines advised the schools to do their share by proper planning of the MCPE at all times and avoid the non-essentials in the disbursement and utilization of the MOOE in response to the preceding scenario.
Dr. Ladines expressed her appreciation to the scholheads for their willingness to stretch all the means to support the learners. (By Reena G. Orquina)
